Hi. My name is Michelle Goette. I just turned 18 and graduated from Chattanooga Christian School. I am so excited to be out of school and moving on to bigger and better things like going to South Africa in the fall. I have grown up in Tennessee but was born in South Korea when my parents were missionaries. I have a great dad that teaches 8th grade science in the school I have gone to since kindergarten, a compassionate mom who is a consoler specializing in the area of grief and loss, and the best big sister who is one of my best friends and will be a senior at Samford University in Birmingham, AL next year.

I have grown up going to church, a Christian school, and in a Christian home. When I was seven, my pastor was giving the invitation at the end of the service and it just clicked that if God did all that for me, the least I could do was to give my life to him. Walk the aisle, get baptized, follow him to kingdom come, all of a sudden God made it seem like the only logical choice was to be a Christian. Since then, I have learned a lot. God has blessed me with good parents, encouraging friends, and a great church. Sometimes God has had to take me to lows so that I can only see him, but he has also blessed me beyond compare.

Well, I also wanted to describe myself a bit so I asked a bunch of friends to describe my in one word. So far I have encouraging, humble, friendly, caring, spastic, passionate, and a servant. I would say that I am a people person, optimistic, and love trying new things. I love trying new foods, joining different groups, and taking unique
classes. I have gone from violin to karate, knitting to running cross
country, and chess to art.

So I guess that’s enough to get you started. I’m so excited to get going and get to Africa.

God bless yall,

Shell
